Therefore DO not drink alcohol or caffeine the day you are to have your procedure. Do not take any blood thinning medications (unless prescribed by a doctor for medial reasons) one week prior to your appointment (i.e. Aspirin, Coumadin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, etc)

The following conditions (indicated with blue) do not prevent you from getting permanent makeup, but should be considered when deciding if it is right for you.
-Cirrhosis of the Liver: Susceptible to infection
-Scar tissue: Scars can be tattooed over, however be aware that scar tissue can prevent proper healing; pigment may not take to the skin at all. This can happen if you've had previous permanent makeup in the past.
-Platelet Disorders- Causes more bleeding to occur, and therefore lower pigment retention.
-Moles/raised areas in or around the area: Pigment will not be put into moles or anything raised but you can be tattooed around them
-Thyroid medications: Potential for faster fading and need for more touch-ups
-Auto Immune Disorder of any kind (MS, RA, Lupus etc): Due to the medicines to treat these disorders, pigment will not retain well
Anemia: Will require more touch-ups
Tanning: May alter color over time
MEDICATIONS:
Taking certain medications can effect your skin and the way it heals. Taking a lot of different medications at once will also make it harder to predict how well the permanent makeup will heal on you (no its not the same as a regular tattoo).
The following medications will prevent proper pigment retention and if you take any of these regularly you should not get permanent makeup:
-Triflusal (Disgren)
-Clopidogrel (Plavix)
-Prasugrel (Effient)
-Ticagrelor (Brilinta)
-Ticlopidine (Ticlid)
-Cilostazol (Pletal)
-Vorapaxar (Zontivity)
-Dipyridamole (Persantine)
-Coumadin
-Pradaxia (Dabigatran)
-Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)
-Eliquis (Apixaban)
-Savaysa (Edoxaban)
SUN EXPOSURE:
Time spent in the sun and overall health play a factor in fading/healing.
These instructions and requirements are for your safety and are recommended for the best results possible. If you show up to your appointment/book your appointment without following any/all of the above requirements including pre-care or you have any of the conditions indicated in red above, you will be turned away and charged a cancellation fee. If you experience any of the conditions above indicated in blue, then by scheduling you except the possible outcomes explained.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The following MUST be avoided during all 7-10 days post-procedure
There will be an unflattering period of scabbing during this time & makeup is not allowed on/around the brow area
PLAN ACCORDINGLY:
You may want to have a few days off from activities, photographs, etc. for the scabbing stage of the healing process (usually starts between 4-5 days post procedure)
BROWS:
Please apply Aquaphor 1-2 times a day (morning & night), if you have normal to dry skin. If you have oily skin, do not put any ointments on your brows during the healing process, dry method only.
LIPS:
No Lip Filler/treatments 3 weeks prior to procedure (or 4 weeks after)
Plan your procedure with your schedule/vacations/events! DO NOT schedule when you have an incoming event that conflicts with healing. You will need 5-7 days to heal. Expect an additional "perfecting" touch-up 6 weeks after the initial appointment.
Please make sure you eat something before the procedure, since you want your blood sugar levels normal for any tattooing procedure. You will not feel like eating after (And you have to wait 3 hours after procedure to eat).
-
You will want to start a lip scrub once a day for 3 days before your procedure so that your lips are exfoliated and do not have a rough texture, which will prevent proper pigment saturation and a poor healed results. Use the morning of your appointment. Do not over scrub to the point that you have raw or compromised skin.
-
You may buy a lip scrub from any local drug store or make a sugar lip scrub at home (google sugar lip scrub) in order to exfoliate off dead layers of skin.
-
Use moisturizer often on you lips in the days prior to the procedure to maintain smooth texture.
-
VERY IMPORTANT:
If you have a history of cold sores you'll need to start taking an anti-viral prescription (Valacyclovir, Denavir (penciclovir), Valtrex or acyclovir (Zovirax)), at least a week BEFORE your proposed procedure. Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin. Therefore if you are a carrier, lip blush will likely cause an outbreak if you do not take an anti-viral medication prior. Your appointment WILL be cancelled if you have had a history of cold sores and do not follow this instruction (with cancellation fees). This is because cold sores will effect the healing/results and can even lead to scarring. So please do not skip this step, you will be happy you didn't and have better results.
If you are nervous, consider bringing headphones and music. Numbing cream will be used during the entire procedure. You will not experience pain.
Do not eat or drink (except water), for the first 3 hours following procedure. Do not drink hot beverages for the first 2-3 days (or use a straw, so that the drink isn't hot on the lips). After eating rinse mouth with mouth wash for the first couple days
DO NOT RUB lips or try to exfoliate dead/shedding skin in ANY WAY.
If the area starts to get itchy, this is normal, don’t scratch the area. This can cause scarring and poor healing.
NO exercising for the first 24 hours.
Do not touch the newly tattooed areas with your uncleaned fingers.
Wash your hands every time you apply an ointment.
Try and sleep on your side/back. Sleeping on your stomach could increase the risk of pulling off healing skin prematurely, causing the pigment to come off with the scabs.
Do not pick or itch the flaking, scabbing skin. This could result in loss of pigment and cause scarring (flaking and scabs are natural reactions as the body is reacting as if the area is a wound and should fall off on their own COMPLETELY). Even small amounts of picking, or "helping" a scab fall off can drastically change your healed results and cause a very patchy and undesirable result
No sun/tanning beds for at least 2 weeks. Understand that any tanning/sun exposure will fade the pigment and possibly change its color over time, even after the healing is completed. Consider purchasing SPF30 lip balm and start using 7 days post procedure, to protect the lips and extend the best color possible
You can use lip makeup/gloss on lips after 14 days.
No HOT showers, exercising, or saunas directly after the procedure. Shower pressure should not go directly on the tattooed area for 10-14 days. Wait 2 weeks to submerge face in a swimming pool/hot tub.
Color changes occur during the healing and are completely normal. During the healing you may also experience the color disappearing and then reappearing back during the following 6 weeks. The final color is seen 4-6 weeks post procedure.
Touch-ups are 6-10 weeks post appointment. Touch-ups are for any necessary areas and the healing tends to be easier this time, but involves the same process.
